Last day of the trip. Today we headed to Gold Coast. More adventure awaits. In Gold Coast, we were separated in groups, each doing different activities, since everyone will not fit one activities at the same time. I get to climb the Q1 Skypoint which is the highest point in Queensland. Even though I am afraid of height, I always visit the tallest building at any city I go to. At least going up to the observation desk. But there will be something different this time.

Just a recap:

Earlier this year I had been given an opportunity to participate in an exciting event called #Escapers15 which started in Singapore and ending in Queensland, Australia. I have been to Singapore many times and spent a couple of years studying in New South Wales, Australia. However, #Escapers15 has given me experiences in both countries, especially Queensland, Australia. I can’t believe how much I love it there, people, weather, and food! I feel that I should have taken time to visit Queensland while I was studying in New South Wales. So, big thank you to Accor Hotel, Scoot Airlines, and Queensland Tourism for such an awesome trip!

The race set out to be a bit like the TV show, The Amazing Race, albeit a bit more relaxing, more fun and without all the scary challenges.  However all the competitors looked to be quite competitive. There were 17 competitors from a total of 9 different countries — Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, China, India, and Australia. Two competitors from each country form one team, except for lonely Japan, with only one person.

Here is the beautiful view of the Q1 Skypoint building from the beach. Look nice and doesn’t seem that tall, isn’t it?

First we go up to the observation deck to look around take some photos and have some lunch.escapers15-queensland-goldcoast_q1-skypoint-view-1

View of Gold Coast from the observation deck. Many tall building around.

There’s also many waterways and lagoon in the city.

Now it’s time to scale the Skypoint Climb on top of Q1, Gold Coast’s most iconic residential tower. Walking up isn’t that hard.escapers15-queensland-goldcoast_q1-skypoint-top-view

View right from the top of the climb. The 360 degree view of the coastline and hinterland 270 meter above sea level.

My fear of height can’t stop me from doing the climb, can it? It was scary for me but I pushed on.

Feel great having everyone cheering ^^

Try a relaxing post. Should be relaxing but I didn’t look like relaxing at all.

Even high up, it feel so calm. I can just sit there and watch the ocean forever.

Always a selfie time.

Try not to look down!

After all the activities we have done all day, we weren’t finish yet. Since we were at Gold Coast, we can’t miss going to the beach.

Nice weather and just the right water temperature. Gold Coast definitely has one of the best beach in the world.

At last, it has come to this, last dinner party. Even though Thailand team did not win, I win a prize for a photo contest back in Singapore. I am glad that at least I get to win something. After party before going to bed, yet more group selfie.

The next morning is the day that we all had to leave. But not quite yet. Four of us got up early and took the tram to surfer paradise for a dip in the ocean and beach walking one last time.

Thank you Accor Hotels, Fly Scoot, and Tourism Queensland one last time for given me this opportunity to experience special time Singapore and Queensland like no other.
